Seventeen becomes the first K-pop singer to speak at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris.

Group Seventeen will become the first K-pop singer to give a speech at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France.

The Korean National Commission for UNESCO (Secretary-General Kyung-gu Han) and Pledis Entertainment said, “The group Seventeen (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, Dokyeom, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino) will participate and give speeches and performances.”

The UNESCO Youth Forum is held in conjunction with the UNESCO General Assembly held every two years as a venue for youth representatives from 194 UNESCO member countries to gather to share opinions and experiences about the realities they face and to seek common issues and solutions.

At this year’s 13th Youth Forum, youth representatives from UNESCO member countries, youth-related UN organizations, international intergovernmental organizations, and non-governmental organizations will also participate under the theme of ‘Climate Change and Fair Climate Transition for Youth.’

Since August of last year, the Korean National Commission for UNESCO signed a business agreement with ‘Pledis Entertainment’ and has been carrying out the ‘Going Together Campaign’ with Seventeen to inform the world’s youth of the importance of education.

Through the ‘Going Together Campaign’, Seventeen signed a tripartite agreement with UNESCO and participated in UNESCO’s youth project and UNESCO Youth Forum, and spread UNESCO’s main messages to the world through music and various activities for a better common future. We plan to spread it.

Secretary-General Kyeong-gu Han emphasized, “In a global reality where educational opportunities that were taken for granted can be a lifelong dream for some, Seventeen’s voice calling for a better future through education will resonate greatly with young people around the world.”
